The Ralph Stanley Museum is located in a century old, four story home that was currently remodeled in Clintwood, Virginia.

The home was originally known as the “Chase House,” named for Roland E. Chase.  The home is pictured at right in the early 1900’s.  The Museum was built around 1904 and was reported to be the first brick home built in Dickenson County.

The town of Clintwood purchased this building as a part of the downtown revitalization project.  The exterior has been renovated with Community Development Block Grant Funds. The interior of the building has been completely redesigned to accommodate the museum.
